Housewarming gift ideas for every kind of new home
Housewarming isn't one occasion — it's five, and the right new-home gift changes with each:
- First flat or first rental — the everyday pick: the Personalised Housewarming Gift Candle from $39.99, in bright fresh scents that lift a small space.
- First mortgage, first house — a milestone gift; size up to a Large candle and add the Luxury gift bag at checkout.
- Downsizers — let them choose the scent themselves with the Personalised Soy Candle.
- Interstate move — a Personalised Map Candle marks the new address before the place feels like home.
- Renovation finally done — a clean scent to clear the last of the paint-and-dust smell.
Why a candle is the housewarming gift people keep
A new place never smells like home yet — fresh paint, old carpet, the last tenant still in the bathroom tiles. A hand-poured soy candle is the first thing that makes the rooms feel claimed, and the jar gets reused long after the wax is gone. That's what separates a housewarming present someone still touches six months later from one that disappears into a cupboard.

Gifting FAQs & Expert Buying Tips
Everything you need to know about Scent Nation's personalised soy candles: ingredients, engraving, delivery and care.
What makes Scent Nation candles a premium choice for home fragrance?
Scent Nation candles are hand-poured in NSW, Australia using 100% natural, sustainable soy wax. Formulated with maximum fragrance loads (Triple Scented) and clean, lead-free cotton wicks, they offer a clean burn time of over 40 hours (Medium 225g) or over 50 hours (Large 285g) with no paraffin. We offer a stunning range of personalised, funny, and designer-inspired scents to suit every style.
Can I burn Scent Nation candles around pets?
We don’t use essential oils in our fragrances, but any open flame needs care around pets: burn within sight and out of reach of paws and tails. Ventilate the room; birds are especially sensitive.
What candle safety precautions should I take in my home?
To burn your candle safely, always light it in a well-ventilated area with adequate airflow. Ensure the candle is placed on a heat-resistant, stable surface situated high enough in the room so that children, pets, or sweeping paws cannot reach or knock it over. Always trim the cotton wick to 5mm before lighting.
